Citytrip Groningen, shopping, hotspots and more

Hi girls, last weekend I went to Groningen with my mom, we have had a lovely time in the north of the Netherlands. We left on Friday with the train. There were some troubles on the railway so we had to continue with the bus. When we came in Groningen we went to our hotel. We thought this was in the city center, but it was like 20 minutes walking away from it. That was not really nice, but when we came in our hotel room and we saw the lovely room, it was okay.

Groningen day 1

After we packed our stuff from the hotel we went to a supermarket to buy wine and food to eat and drink in bed for in the night. And we visited an other shop in the shopping mall. I bought there a concealer kit and a nail polish because it was on sale. After that, we went back to our room and put all the things there. And we left to the city to get dinner.

Dinner hotspot – Het Concerthuis

Het Concerthuis is a restaurant and an absolute hotspot in Groningen. It looks lovely, see the first picture and the food are also very good. They have opportunities for food sharing, which is really great. You get a table full of food and you have to share the plates with your table. We ordered something named “a filled table” which is a table with food picked by the chef. A good tip, if you don’t like something, you have to tell it. We started with a glass of wine and some bread, after that we got a seafood pasta, corn, and salads. And as dessert, I got a chocolate raspberry dessert with a cup of tea.

After we got home we saw some television with wine in our bed.

Groningen Day 2

We started with a good breakfast at our hotel and after that, we went to the city to explore it and to shop. We saw Groningen University, which is an impressive old building. See pictures above. Funny thing, in the picture you can see how I am wearing my socks, I did this because I didn’t have any short socks. A woman in a shoe shop told me she loved the way I wore my socks, so if you don’t have any short socks, wear it like this and people will like it, haha.

Lunch hotspot – FeelGood

Feel good is a healthy hotspot, the food is really good and without added sugar and E-numbers. I ordered a hot chocolate milk made of Alpro coconut milk and dark chocolate, which was the best one ever. And I ate a veggie burger. Much is vegan but they also have things that aren’t. I really loved their burger and the brownie I got with my chocolate milk was also very good. I guess you already know I am a healthy lover so restaurants like this are my favorites.

After that, we continued shopping and I bought some shoes, more about this in the other post. We went into many shops and we saw much shoes, always hard to chose a good pair of course, but I found a pair I like, yay.

Bubble hotspot – Mr. Mofongo

For a drink, we went to Mr. Mofongo were we ordered a drink and some natchos. This was so good, the place is really lovely and full of all kind of people, young, old, families, friends, just everyone can come and eat there. It is a busy hotspot and when you want to have dinner you need to make a reservation, but we only come for a drink and a small bite. After we finished our nacho’s we ordered some bitterballs. And after that, we went to a different restaurant for our dinner.

I don’t have much to say about the other restaurant, it was not a hotspot. We had a dinner check to give out, so we did it in that place. The food was good, but there were nicer places to eat, so that was kinda bad.

Groningen day 3

We had a late breakfast in the hotel and after that, we went to the city again. This time I bought some clothes, a dress at Nikkie, a jacket at Zara and basics and a party at the H&M. This look will be soon on my blog. I really wanted jeans with some pearls and diamonds, but I couldn’t find a nice one. Okay I know this sounds really ugly, but it isn’t. I’m sure soon we will see many jeans with this.

Lunch hotspot – no. 25

Because we had a late breakfast we only take a smoothie and a brownie for lunch. This is not a healthy brownie, but a really good one. I love the combination of coconut with the brownie. The coconut is the layer on top. My smoothie was made of strawberries and mint and the one my mom took was made of red cabbage, ginger, and carrot. Both were really good, the restaurant also was nice and stylish.

After our “lunch” we went home.

Groningen in my opinion

I think Groningen is a nice city, they have nice shops, hotspots, and buildings. I love old buildings and old things to visit and it is possible to do that. The people are true and kind and that is what I like. When something is not made for you, they tell you. The hotspots are all great, good food, nice people, lovely decor and most of them are healthy. Groningen is a must visit city for me.

What do you think of Groningen? Have you ever visited it or will you?
